Cyber Start Canada - Free until Jan. 31, 2022

CyberStart Canada is Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst's new (and free!) youth-focused learning experience that seeks to increase cyber knowledge and safety among high school girls and close the gender gap in cybersecurity.

Cost: Free
Program goal: increase the representation of girls and non-binary students in computer science and cybersecurity programs by getting them interested early on with CyberStart Canada.
Who: Available to girls and non-binary students aged 13-18 in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario
How: The immersive and gamified, hands-on approach to learning cybersecurity will take computer science lessons beyond the classroom and increase interest in cybersecurity careers for girls and young women across Canada.
When: Now. Students can start playing at any time. Clubs and supervisors are not required.
Registration: Opened on September 6th! Students can sign up on their own and start today
- Educators and community organizers can sign up and explore the CyberStart platform. There can work on 200+ cybersecurity puzzles and challenges alongside their students.

GoEngGirl - Dec. 3 at UVic

GoEngGirl (Dec. 3rd 2022) and GoCodeGirl (March 11, 2023) are day-long events aimed at Victoria-area girls and non-binary folks in grades 6-12, for encouragement and background to enter engineering. and computer science. Each day will consist of a team design challenge, a pizza lunch with engineering clubs, and a parent panel talk to answer parent (and student) questions. This will all be held on our UVic campus and will be a great chance for the gals to experience a day of ECS fun.
